Argalios guesthouse features 4 apartments: the Duck, the Goat, the Rooster and the Donkey, detached or semi-detached, each with its own entrance. All four are heartily decorated, each in its own distinct way.
On the inside, the spaces are lined with warped concrete. The kitchens, the wardrobes, the beds and the bathrooms are all built in. In each room we have placed pieces of furniture we rescued from old local houses, and which we had renovated and made functional again. The ceilings are all wood, featuring visible wooden beams, while the doors, shutters and frames are also traditionally wooden. The kitchens have marble basins, are spacious and can fully cater for your daily indoor cooking. The bathrooms are an indigo blue and have hot water throughout the day, while the incorporated beds feature mattresses and pillows from Cocomat (look it up!) for a… dreamlike sleep! In each apartment you will find a small bookcase, wi-fi connection, TV and fan. We have refrained from having air-conditioners installed so as to maintain a better air quality and reduce energy consumption. All light bulbs are energy efficient, and with your aid we will try to separate the garbage into organic and non-organic, the organic portion turned into compost to be used later in our vegetable garden.
On the outside, each apartment has its own terrace with beautiful views over the village, the Aegean and the surrounding islands. “A house to hold you and a view as far as the eye can see” as the old locals used to say. The surrounding space is laid with traditional warped concrete, while all around you will find growing bougainvilleas, evening primroses, basil, rosemary, lavender, geraniums, a redbud tree, a pomegranate tree, a lemon tree and other local favourites. Our organic garden provides us with tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers in the summer, and broccoli, cabbages, cauliflowers and radishes in the winter. We are open all year round.
We are expecting you in Donoussa!
